The X Factor with Host Steve Jones

Host Steve Jones has been busy on The X Factor as the competition narrows down the top finalists. Although Steve Jones has played emcee and master of ceremonies on The X Factor, Jones has also played somewhat of the referee at times with the judges. Despite his efforts to keep The X Factor on track and entertaining in between singers, Steve Jones also knows a thing or two about calming the nerves of remaining X Factor singers Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty, Josh Krajcik, Rachel Crow, and Chris Rene.

Ahead of Thursday night’s results episode of The X Factor, The Deadbolt spent a couple of key minutes with host Steve Jones to get his thoughts on The X Factor singers, the judges, and what Jones thinks about the future of Astro.

THE DEADBOLT: So, what do you enjoy the most, the actual contestants or the competition between the judges?

STEVE JONES: Oh, that’s a good question. That’s a tricky one. I enjoy hanging out with the contestants, seeing them flourish and become little superstars. I mean the judges are such complicated beasts and you can see those four gigantic egos in front of you every week, vying for everyone’s attention and wanting to get their point across. That’s kind of fun.

To be honest with you, maybe I’m going to commit. I love watching the judges, they’re great. The contestants, they sing their songs and I’ve watched them in rehearsals and I’m familiar with it by the time we get to the live show. So, I’ve seen that and it’s enjoyable, but you just don’t know what the hell is going to come out of these judge’s mouths from one minute to the next. So, that’s exciting and the fact that I’m the guys who tries to steer them in the right direction. The fact that I’m the one who goes, “Stop talking now please, because we only have so limited time. We’ve got to get a conclusion by the end of the show.” It’s a challenge, but I’d say the judges. I love being in front of them.

THE DEADBOLT: What’s your view of Astro? Is he just young and arrogant, or is he really that good?

JONES: I wouldn’t say arrogant, but petulant. He’s young and he kind of follows the stars, but essentially he’s also immensely talented. I believe he is that good and this guy will be a superstar. He’s about to fill a niche. I mean the guty is going to fill the Justin Bieber hip-hop niche. He’s going to be gigantic. I would put my house on that, definitely.

What do you think?

Nichol do us all a favor and quit!!! Your so pathetic!!! Cherly out sung him all the way! I won’t buy any of your albums but I would buy hers! I think your bad decision just cost you your singing career! Your the rubbish that needs to be taken out.

  • Sgrezaeee

I think they bull shit the answer because Rachel will actually succeed as a singer unlike Marcas who has been carried by the judges the past 3 weeks. Bring Rachel back I can’t stand listening to Marcas butcher another good song

Nicole’s lack of professionalism is worse than the kids’
reactions when sent home. C’mon, Nicole, it is time for you to grow up and be
the professional you are paid for! You just screwed a beautiful and great
singer. Simon is the only truly professional as a judge in this show, but he
failed when got Nicole to be a judge.

  • Yoyo

Nicole do us all a favor, DO NOT!!! I repeat… DO NOT!!! sign up for next seasons X factor. Your full of it. You knew that Rachel was way better singer then Marcus. You even got up out of your seat for Rachel cheering her on. Your decision was not right, not at all. You are so vindictive and so wrong.

RACHEL RAY YOU ARE AN ANGEL !!! YOU WILL SUCCEED YOU HAVE A FANTASTIC VOICE AND YOU ARE ONLY 13. I WILL BUY ALL YOUR CD’S. OKAY, NICOLE WAS UNDER PRESSURE AND SHE DID WHAT SHE THOUGHT SHE SHOULD DO, I THOUGHT RACHEL WAS GOING TO WIN, AND I THINK NICOLE DID AND EVERYONE ELSE, BUT, WE ALL WERE WRONG! SIMON, KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING , HE IS LOVEABLE, A SHOWMAN AND A REAL BUSINESS MAN.
    GOOD LUCK RACHEL !!!!!!

That guy is so noy british.

Nicole did not do anything wrong. She was torn and couldn’t send Rachel or Marcus home. If you want to put blame somewhere, blame the public – Rachel received the lowest number of votes so she was sent home. Relax, all you angry people. It really doesn’t matter: Rachel is going to have a great career, anyway. This is not life and death.

Well, enough of judging the judges.  The facts being that the majority of artists we have seen stay and those who have now gone are amazingly talented and they will still become stars.
