Charlie’s Angels Slide in Ratings

The ABC remake of Charlie’s Angels is in danger of becoming retro canceled after the new Angels series was the lowest rated show on Thursday night. Given the sagging ratings of Charlie’s Angels, the female action remake could follow such shows as Free Agents, The Playboy Club and H8R as one of the next shows to be canceled.

Entertainment Weekly reports that earlier signs that Charlie’s Angels would bounce back from low ratings were dashed on Thursday when the remake attracted 5.9 million viewers with only 1.2 million in the 18-49 adult demographic. The latest numbers put Charlie’s Angels 20 percent lower than last week to become the lowest rated show on the major networks on Thursday night.

Although Charlie’s Angels was the lowest rated show on Thursday night, none of the new shows on all of the networks gained any ground. New shows either slipped or maintained their numbers from last week, with Fox taking the lead with The X Factor, which held at 11.2 million with 3.8 in the 18-49 demo. CBS came in second after The Mentalist attracted 12.9 million with 2.7 million in the 18-49 crowd. ABC was third with Grey’s Anatomy which had 8.5 million and 3 million in the 18-49.
