Apple and Samsung have come together on the iPhone 4S A5 processor and iPad 2, which Samsung manufactures for Apple at a plant in Austin, Texas.

According to Reuters, people associated with the Samsung plant in Austin, Texas have told the wire that the Korean company began to manufacture the A5 processor for the iPhone 4S A5 and the iPad 2. The Samsung plant started to produce the chips in early December and most of the output is dedicated to the Apple chips.

The new facility is the only other non-memory chip plant owned by Samsung outside of Korea. As Reuters reports, the sources from the plant also revealed that Apple began taking shipments of the Austin produced A5 chips this year.
