Ahead of the June 8 release of the new Ridley Scott sci-fi film Prometheus, actress Charlize Theron revealed new details about her character as compared to the original Alien film.
In a recent interview with Total Film, actress Charlize Theron explained how her character in Prometheus is the complete opposite of Sigourney Weaver in Alien. “No, I actually don’t play the heroine in it,” said Theron, “that’s Noomi Rapace. I play somewhat of a villain in it. She’s not believer, she’s not a scientist, she is the red tape that everyone has to go through.”
Theron also adderessed the issue of Prometheus as a prequel to Ridley Scott’s despite the many denials by Scott that it has no connection to the Alien franchise. When asked if anything in Prometheus will relate to Alien, like an alien creature bursting through a character’s chest, Theron was careful with her words. “Maybe,” a cautiousn Theron told Total Film. “I mean if you’re a Ridley Scott fan and you love the genre, then you’re going to be happy. You’re going to be very, very happy.”
Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, and Idris Elba an dis scheduled to hit theaters on June 8.
