No Glee Spin-Off Says Fox
Fans of Glee will not get a spin-off after Fox’s entertainment president confirmed the Glee news at the Television Critics Association tour on Sunday.
Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly addressed the future of Glee at the Winter TCA tour on Sunday by saying that there will be no Glee spin-off. Although speculation had it that some Glee characters would be headed to New York City after graduation, Reilly put the rumors to rest on Sunday.
As TV Line, reported from the TCAs, Reilly explained where Glee is headed.
“We are graduating the characters that are to graduate,” said Kevin Reilly to TCA reporters, “and what’s come out of it is Ryan [Murphy] and the guys have come up with a really cool idea.”
“There will not be a Glee spin-off.”
“But those characters will graduate and it’s led to a very interesting idea that I think is going to really give us something cool to dig into next season.”
As for which Glee actors and characters will remain on the show, TV Line says that although Reilly stated he wanted everyone back on the show, he was also non-commital. “I’ve got to look at the contractual situation for all of those. And we will.”
