Ahead of the 2012 release of The Hobbit, Elijah Wood and director Peter Jackson discussed their return to The Lord of the Rings franchise while on the set of The Hobbit in New Zealand.

Although The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey doesn’t hit theaters until December 14, actor Elijah Wood and director Peter Jackson shared their thoughts about returning to the world of The Lord of the Rings franchise in New Zealand.

In The Hobbit clip for An Unexpected Journey, Peter Jackson walked around the familiar setting before revealing how it was weird to revisit a location that he thought he’d never see again after wrapping The Lord of the Rings trilogy. For Elijah Wood, who returns to the role of Frodo Baggins in The Hobbit, stepping back into Hobbiton conjured up memories of the very first time he visited the location during his first turn in The Lord of the Rings franchise.
