291 days ago by Reg Seeton

A new featurette for Total Recall showcases the hover cars in the Colin Farrell toplined remake of the Paul Verhoeven sci-fi now directed by Len Wiseman.

In the new Total Recall featurette, director Len Wiseman and producers Neil Moritz and Toby Jaffe deconstruct the making of the new hover cars in the remake world of Total Recall. Although some fans expected the hover cars to be created solely by CGI technology, Len Wiseman explains how it was crucial to have real live action vehicles to work with in a practical sense along with CGI.

Wiseman also reveals that six hover cars were built for the new Total Recall while Vehicle Art Director, Dana Bodgan, details how the crew created the hover cars to look like they were levitating by using cars on top of cars.

In the hover car sequence, Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale are being chased on screen while actual crew members control the practical cars off-screen.

Total Recall opens August 3.
