Animal Practice star Justin Kirk recently shared his thoughts on working with animals and the comedy on and off screen in the upcoming NBC series.

On Sunday, August 12 at 10:38 p.m., NBC is airing an early preview of the upcoming comedy, Animal Practice, starring former Weeds actor Justin Kirk. In Animal Practice, Justin Kirk plays Dr. George Coleman, a successful veterinarian who recently learned that his ex-girlfriend Dorothy Crane (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) has inherited the hospital where he works and is now his boss.

Premiering September 26 at 8/7c on NBC, Animal Practice also stars Joanna García-Swisher, Bobby Lee, Tyler Labine, Kym Whitley, Betsy Sodaro and Crystal the Monkey.

Ahead of Sunday’s sneak peek of Animal Practice, Janine Brady of NBCUDirect caught up with series star Justin Kirk to get the scoop on working with animals, what fans can expect, and what it’s like to find the right chemistry with a monkey.
