America’s Got Talent: William Close, “The AGT stage is perfect for what I do”

Now that the final six acts have been established on America’s Got Talent for the finale, William Close is a heavy fan favorite to win with his Earth Harp.

One of the most unique musical acts to ever grace the America’s Got Talent stage, William Close has continued to dazzle fans with the sound of his earth harp. As fans have seen throughout the weeks this season on AGT, Close uses each venue as a string instrument to create beautiful music.

From his very first audition on America’s Got Talent, William Close captured the hearts of both fans and the judges.

Now that he has a real shot at winning, how does William Close feel about where he started with his first audition?

“I was definitely a little unsure going into that first audition,” said Close to The Deadbolt ahead of Wednesday’s two-part finale. “When I walked out, Howard was a little skeptical and they weren’t really sure what I was up to. But when I started to perform and play, everyone was really blown away.”

A musician and inventor who has created over fifty musical instruments, including the Earth Harp, the world’s largest harp, William Close is grateful for the opportunity to showcase his talent on what Close feels is the ideal fit.

“Being inside the instrument is really cool,” Close explained. “So, in a lot of ways, I think the AGT stage is perfect for what I do. It’s a very open-minded stage where anything is possible. I’m really grateful that the first audition went well so I can continue to present all of the tricks up my sleeve and all of the wild sounds that I have. It’s been really fun.”

America’s Got Talent airs Wednesday, September 12 at 9/8c on NBC.

It was an awesome finale for AGT, and William Close didn’t disappoint. To me it looks like the winner will be either Close or Tom Cotter. One of my officemates at Dish loves Cotter and actually voted for him. Unfortunately I’m not home so I won’t be able to watch the results until later so I turned on Prime Time Anytime on my Hopper. It automatically records all the prime time shows on the four major networks for me. I do have a soft spot for Olate Dogs but I don’t think they did anything special enough to overtake Close and Cotter. No matter what happens it was a great season on AGT!
