After speculation about extra footage on The Dark Knight Rises DVD and Blu-Ray, it was confirmed this week that the release will not include an Extended Director’s Cut of the film.
Last week, rumors swirled around The Dark Knight Rises about a potential extra 30 minutes of footage that would be released when the Christopher Nolan directed film eventually hits DVD and Blu-Ray.
Online word had it that the extra footage would include more backstory on Bane, the latest villain, plus other aspects not seen in the film.
The Playlist reports that Christopher Nolan’s camp put an end to the rumors of an extended cut by saying there are no plans and that the speculation is false.
It appears that Nolan decided to avoid an extended director’s cut by simply not filming more scenes than he actually needed due to the cost.
The Dark Knight Rises has a tentative DVD and Blu-Ray release date of June 2013.
