The production of RoboCop began this weekend in Toronto where photos were taken of actor Joel Kinnaman on set in his newly upgraded RoboCop suit.
Two images from the RoboCop set first appeared on ComingSoon.net over the weekend and show the updated RoboCop suit as a much more form-fitting Cyborh outfit than the original worn by Peter Weller in 1987.
Following ther release of the “leaked” images, fans swarmed message-boards and forums to voice their pleasure and displeasure about the new suit.
In the remake of RoboCop, Officer Alex Murphy suffers a critical injury in the line of duty and is saved by the OmniCorp by using their science of robotics to release Murphy back on the streets as the crime fighting RoboCop.
The new RoboCop is directed by Jose Padilha and stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Joel Kinnaman, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is expected to hit theatres on August 9, 2013.
