On Sunday, director Peter Jackson confirmed that the new trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released on Wednesday, September 19.
According to Peter Jackson, who made the announcement on Facebook, the new trailer for The Hobbit will be 2:25 minutes and premiere in honor of Tolkien Week. After several of development and production delays, including the departure of previously attached director, Guillermo del Toro, principal photography on The Hobbit began in March 2011 in New Zealand where the Lord of the Rings Trilogy was filmed.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 14.
