The Voice continued the blind audition process on Tuesday with singer Collin McLoughlin making it onto Team Adam Levine after singing “Wild World” by Cat Stevens.
A former graduate student at New York University, Collin McLoughlin dropped out to follow is dreams of being a singer despite the concerns of his mother. On Tuesday night, however, Collin proved that he has what it takes to not only have a career in music but also a shot at winning The Voice.
So, after capturing the attention of Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton, how did Collin feel about the coaches and his mother finally validating his talent?
“It felt unbelievable,” McLoughlin admitted to The Deadbolt the next morning. “I’ve been working so hard to get a chance like this. To finally have it come down to that one audition and have it work out in my favor, it was refreshing.”
Although Collin’s mother expressed her concern over his career choice, it didn’t take long for her to admit that she was wrong after watching the coaches turn around for her son.
For Collin, The Voice proved to be the open door that he needed in music and his relationship with both his mother and father.
“It was really great for my parents to be part of it,” added McLoughlin, “and that maybe I wasn’t just full of it and it was just something that I really needed to keep doing.”
