A crew diver on the set of The Lone Ranger died on Friday while cleaning and preparing a tank for the upcoming Johnny Depp topped Western film.
As reported by TMZ, the man, a diver, went into cardiac arrest on The Lone Ranger set while he was underwater inside the tank before being found and airlifted to a nearby hospital where he later died. As reported, no filming was underway on The Lone Ranger at the time. It appears the man was preparing the tank for a future shoot when something happened to him underwater.
A representative for Walt Disney released a statement to TMZ earlier this afternoon regretfully confirming the diver’s death.
The exact cause of death is still being investigated.
