Freddie Combs won over The X Factor judges and fans this week from his wheelchair while singing “Wind Beneath My Wings” to advance into the next round.
Prior to hitting The X Factor stage for his audition, the 540 pound Freddie Combs admitted that he once weighed 920 pounds and nearly died from his weight. After losing 400 pounds, Freddie also revealed that he has a new lease on life as he continues to lose weight and hopes to inspire other obese people in a similar situation.
A 40-year old minister from Greeneville, Tennessee, Freddie was wheeled on stage by his wife before singing the Bette Midler hit “Wind Beneath My Wings” in front of the judges. In a touching moment, Freddie dedicated the song to his wife as she walked off stage.
Not only did Freddie inspire The X Factor judges but Combs also inspired an entire nation with his voice.
