Taken 2 with Liam Neeson dominated the weekend box office with an estimated $50 million in ticket sales to take the top spot over Hotel Transylvania.

The sequel to the 2009 revenge thriller, Taken 2 saw the return of Liam Neeson for another go as retired Intelligence agent Bryan Mills. Easily winning the weekend box office, Taken 2 doubled the first Taken film in 2009, which took in $24.7 million back in 2010.

Although Taken 2 ruled the weekend box office, Hotel Transylvania had a strong showing with $26.3 million to easily take the second spot. The comedy Pitch Perfect took third place at the weekend box office with $14.7 million.
