Beyonce has pulled out of the upcoming Clint Eastwood remake of A Star is Born due to scheduling difficulties surrounding the start date of production.

Although Beyonce was tapped to take the lead in the new remake of A Star Is Born, the singer has now dropped out of the project due to the unknown start date of production. As Variety reveals, Beyonce pulled out of the project since it was difficult for her to schedule other projects.

Director Clint Eastwood now needs to fill both the female and male lead roles made famous by Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in the 1976 film. Eastwood’s version of A Star is Born will be the fourth version of the film after the 1937 film with Judy Gaynor and Fredric March, the 1954 remake with Judy garland and James Mason, and the 1976 version with Streisand and Kristofferson.

It’s been reported that some of Hollywood’s most famous leading men have been eyed for the male lead, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, and Johnny Depp, even Bradley Cooper.

As for Beyonce’s possible replacement, it appears that Clint Eastwood is set on casting the male lead first before looking for another actress to take on the role.
