The Peanuts will finally hit the big screen in 2015 after it was revealed this week by Craig Schulz, the son of late Peanuts creator Charles Schulz.
Earlier this week, 20th Century Fox Animation announced that The Peanuts movie will hit theaters in 2015 with Craig Schulz, grandson Brian, and Cornelius Uliano on board to co-write and co-produce.
In an official statement, as revealed by E! News, Craig Schulz explained why it has taken so long to bring The Peanuts to life on film. “We have been working on this project for years,” said Schulz. “We finally felt the time was right and the technology is where we need it to be to create this film.”
The release news is timely given how 2015 marks the 65th anniversary of the original Peanuts debut and the 50th anniversary of “a Charlie Brown Christmas,” which we assume you still watch each year.
Although The Peanuts now has a release year, the film is still without a title and plot.
