Actress Shailene Woodley has been offered the role of Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 after Woodley became the top choice for producers.
As first reported by Variety, Golden Globe nominated actress Shailene Woodley, star of Secret Life of the American Teenager (cancelled today) and The Descendants, is the top casting choice for the role of Mary Jane Watson, the longtime girl “friend” of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, played by Andrew Garfield.
The Woodley story goes on the reveal that other possible characters for the Spider-Man sequel include the villain Electro and Peter Parker’s best friend Harry Osborn, played by James Franco in the Sam Raimi helmed Spider-Man film franchise.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is slated to hit theatres in 3D on May 2, 2014.
