Marvel Studios announced the release date for the Edgar Wright directed Ant-Man along with news that Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will be in 3-D.

On Monday morning, both Marvel and Walt Disney Studios confirmed that the long awaited Ant-Man movie will be released on November 6, 2015 and that Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will be released in 3-D.

The news surrounding the three Marvel films came during a flurry of scheduling changes for the superhero projects now that both Ant-Man and The Avengers 2 are slated for 2015. Marvel announced earlier that The Avengers 2 will be released on May 1, 2015, which makes two superhero films slated for 2015.

Ant-Man will be directed by Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz helmer Edgar Wright from a script penned by The Adventures of Tintin writer Joe Cornish. Ant-Man will follow the releases of Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In the comic book universe, Ant-Man was originally the superhero persona of Henry Pym, a gifted scientist who invented a substance that allowed him to change his size. Created by comic book legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the identity of Ant-Man was assumed by characters Scott Lang and Eric O’Grady following the retirement of Henry Pym.

Ant-Man now has a release date but the story is still under wraps at Marvel.

Although Ant-Man was showcased at Comic Con in San Diego last summer with the panel for Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it’s only now, four months later that we finally have a release date.
