Chanel released the first official video of Brad Pitt as the new Chanel No. 5 spokesman on Monday for the perfume company’s “There you are” campaign.
Looking perfectly disheveled and handsome as the new Chanel spokesman, Brad Pitt stares straight at the camera as he talks about No. 5. “The world turns and we turn with it,” says Pitt. “Plans disappear, dreams take over, but wherever I go, there you are. My luck, my fate, my fortune. Chanel No. 5, inevitable!”
Director Joe Wright shot the Brad Pitt topped Chanel campaign in black and white, with only a simple wall as the video’s backdrop.
The first campaign is quite different from the past by Chanel, which featured such names as Catherine Deneuve, Carole Bouquet, Nicole Kidman, and Audrey Tatou. Brad Pitt was reportedly paid a whopping $7 million for the campaign, almost double the $3.7 that Nicole Kidman earned back in 2003.
Pitt was first tapped to be the new Chanel spokesperson for No. 5 back in May. It was the first time ever that Chanel hired a male spokesperson be the face of the Chanel No. 5 perfume.
