The Voice continued battle competition this week with round four as Team Blake singers Liz Davis and Nicole Johnson threw down in a country showdown.
In the fourth battle round on The Voice, country divas Liz Davis and Nicole Johnson hit the stage to perform “Baggage Claim” by Miranda Lambert, wife of their voice coach Blake Shelton. When it was all said and done on Tuesday, 25-year old Liz came out the winner over the 17-year old Nicole after a close battle in which experience played a key role.
When it came time for Blake to give his singers feedback, Shelton was surprised at how laid back he thought Liz was on stage.
After hearing her coach’s thoughts, did Liz feel laid back while performing live?
“I think that at the time I didn’t see it that way,” Liz told The Deadbolt the next morning after her battle. “I guess when I look back to last night, I could see how he could take the strutting across the stage to be a little bit laid back.”
Laid back or not, Liz gave it her all to win her first battle round on The Voice. Despite narrowly edging Nicole for the win, Liz felt she was into the song in her own unique way.
“I felt that I was putting attitude into it,” Liz added. “I was just having as much fun with it as I possibly could.”
Will Blake push Liz outside of her country box for the next battle round? It’s likely we’ve only seen the beginning of what Liz can do on The Voice. What did you think of Liz Davis and her battle against Nicole Johnson?
