The X Factor has been renewed for a third season after Fox made the official announcement this week regarding the status of the popular singing competition.
Despite the scheduling conflicts, the drama, and the leopard face paint, fans of The X Factor will get a third season after this year’s competition is over.
President of Alternative Entertainment for the Fox Broadcasting Company, Mike Darnell, made the official announcement this week and also addressed the changes made after last season’s debut in the United States.
“This season,” said Darnell about the renewal, “Simon and the producers of The X Factor took an already strong show and made it absolutely fantastic. The format changes are working, the contestants are unbelievably talented, and Britney and Demi,” added Darnell, “have brought an incredibly fun new chemistry to the judges’ panel that our fans really love.”
The X Factor has been in direct competition competing with The Voice, which was extended to Wednesday nights.
Following the additions of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as judges, The X Factor ushered in a new era of change on the show after the departures of first season judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
Although The X Factor was abruptly cut off during the announcement of the final 16 acts, Fox has given the singing competition another vote of confidence.
After last week’s broadcast snafu, the final 4 acts of the top 16 will be revealed on tonight at 9:30-10:30 PM ET/PT on Fox.
