Christina Aguilera performed “Beautiful” during the Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together telethon on NBC this past Friday to help victims of the storm.
This past Friday night on NBC, Christina Aguilera stepped away from her coaching duties on The Voice to sing her hit song “Beautiful” on Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together to help raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Prior to singing “Beautiful,” Christina told viewers that she was born in Staten Island, New York, which was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy last week when the tropical storm devastated the eastern seaboard. Aguilera also let victims know that all of the celebrities were on hand to show their support and that each was lending their talents to be there for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
Aguilera promised that no one would be left behind because every single victim of the hurricane matters to both the stars and the nation.
First looking down at the stage, Christina broke into song for an emotional performance of “Beautiful,” which undoubtedly left many across the country in tears.
Christina Aguilera first released “Beautiful” in 2002 as a single from her fourth studio album Stripped. Since its release, “Beautiful” has been widely recognized as a song that embodies self-empowerment and inner beauty.
