Angry Birds: Star Wars was released on Thursday and quickly became the top selling paid app on iTunes

Angry Birds: Star Wars was released early Thursday morning and quickly became the top paid app with Angry Birds fans on iTunes at the Apple App Store.

In Angry Birds: Star Wars, the birds travel to familiar Star Wars territories like Tatooine and Dagobah. Wookies and droids alike join the lightsaber wielding Angry Birds as they join in intergalactic battle.

After some tinkering, you’ll get used to Obi-wan Kenobi Bird’s powers to use The Force. Han Solo Bird is fully equipped with a blaster gun while the Luke Skywalker Bird has his trusty lightsaber.

Angry Birds: Star Wars offers 80 levels of play, with certain levels even dedicated to just R2-D2 and C-3PO. The difficulty level has also increased, which should give Angry gamers many more hours of playtime.

Does the Star Wars version of the game remain true to its Angry Bird origins? Is it the best version yet?

According to some user comments, Angry Birds: Star Wars rocks!

The cost of Angry Birds: Star Wars ranges from .99 cents at the iTunes store for your iPhone and iPod Touch and $2.99 for iPad, to a free version for Android as well as the $2.99 version. You can also purchase it on the Kindle Fire store for $2.99.

Red Bird finally gets an accessory worth fighting with in Angry Birds: Star Wars. Also, the Luke Skywalker mop? Nice!

What do you think?
