The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters on November 16

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 earned an estimated $30.4 million from early midnight screenings on Thursday and Friday before the official release.

Although the early sales were impressive for the final film in The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn Part 2 failed to beat the $43.5 million midnight sales of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Interestingly, the $30.4 million for Breaking Dawn Part 2 was on par with early midnight screenings of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, which earned $30.3 million ahead of the official release in 2011. However, the first Breaking Dawn film was only shown on Friday as compared to the two early days for the second chapter.

So, how much will The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 earn this weekend?

Industry analysts have the film on track for $150 million in domestic ticket sales. Breaking Dawn Part 2 could potentially be the biggest opening weekend of all films in The Twilight Saga.

Opening Weekend Totals for The Twilight Saga films

Twilight – $69,637,740
New Moon – $142,839,137
Eclipse – $64,832,191
Breaking Dawn Part 1 – $138,122,261

How many people didn’t show up for work or school this morning because of Breaking Dawn Part 2?
