Ahead of the Lifetime debut of Liz & Dick, a new preview shows Lindsay Lohan in the role of Elizabeth Taylor alongside Grant Bowler as Richard Burton.
On Friday, Lifetime released a new preview of Liz & Dick that gives fans an early look at a key moment in career of Elizabeth Taylor.
In the clip, Lindsay Lohan plays Elizabeth Taylor when she’s introduced to Ernest Lehman, writer of the 1966 film Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, which earned Taylor an Oscar for Best Actress.
As fans can see, Grant Bowler’s Richard Burton suggests that he and Liz can do the film together before Lehman shoots down the idea of Burton being in the movie. What ensues is one of the most talked about arguments between Taylor and Burton.
The new Liz & Dick preview comes on the heels of Lindsay Lohan appearing on Good Morning America this week to promote the upcoming movie.
While speaking with GMA’s Amy Robach, Lindsay Lohan revealed how she was able to channel her inner Liz Taylor for the upcoming Lifetime movie. “You can never actually be a clone of the person,” said Lohan, “so you have to bring some of yourself into it. And I was lucky enough because I do relate to Elizabeth Taylor in a lot of ways.”
“In her highly anticipated comeback movie role, Lindsay Lohan (“Mean Girls”) stars as the legendary dame Elizabeth Taylor alongside Grant Bowler (“Defiance”) as celebrated actor Richard Burton in the Lifetime Original Movie “Liz & Dick.
“For nearly a quarter of a century, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were Hollywood royalty and their fiery romance — often called “the marriage of the century” — was the most notorious, publicized and celebrated love affair of its day. Swarmed by paparazzi worldwide, their love affair was played out entirely in front of the media from the time they met on the set of the major motion picture “Cleopatra”, left their respective spouses, married and divorced, only to remarry and divorce once again. Despite their roller coaster romance for the public eye to see, Liz and Dick shared an undeniable love greater than most people could ever dream of.”
Liz & Dick premieres November 25, 2012 on Lifetime.
