During the finale of Survivor: Philippines on Sunday, host Jeff Probst announced that Season 26 of will be called Survivor: Caramoan Fans vs. Favorites and feature several returning players from seasons past.
Following the finale of Survivor: Philippines in which sex therapist Denise Stapley was voted the winner, Jeff Probst revealed that the popular CBS reality series will be another edition of Fans vs. Favorites in Caramoan, a province in the Philippines.
Although fans got a glimpse of Survivor: Caramoan in a brief preview, the official cast was not revealed. The only thing fans learned on Sunday night was that new Survivors would once again be pitted against returning favorites in the same manner as Survivor: Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites.
“We have a lot of great [returning players] who we have not yet anointed as a star or worthy of being in an all-star version of some sort,” Jeff Probst told Entertainment Weekly about Season 26 of Survivor, which was filmed immediately following Survivor: Philippines. “And we started looking at that list and said, we actually have a new batch of people that would be fun to put against a group of newbies.”
Interestingly, Probst also had high praise for the upcoming season, which could take the game up a notch as compared to what we just saw this season.
“The result was fantastic,” Probst added to EW. “It really worked. It will be a season that most fans will regard even better than Survivor: Philippines.”
Although several outlets have already reported on the rumored cast list, CBS has not made an official announcement.
