Australian born Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson will host the 2013 MTV Movie Awards next year when the annual MTV awards show airs in April.
As promotion for the upcoming 2013 MTV Movie Awards, MTV released a preview on Thursday in which Rebel Wilson is chained and whipped by her Bridesmaids co-star Matt Lucas. When Wilson refuses to reveal where “it” is and what she’s planning, her captors try to starve her into submission. Once the coast is clear, Wilson coughs up a candy bar to outwit the evildoers.
Rebel Wilson has had a fantastic year after appearing in seven high profile projects in 2012. Wilson began the year with the comedy Small Apartments before going on to roles in Bachelorette, Pitch Perfect, and the animated hit Ice Age: Continental Drift.
For her role in Pitch Perfect, Wilson received a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the San Diego Film Critics Society and Best Actress in a Comedy nod from the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
Rebel Wilson will next be seen in Michael Bay’s bodybuilding action comedy Pain & Gain in the role of Ramona Eldridge alongside stars Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson.
The MTV Movie Awards will air on Sunday, April 14, 2013.
