
Lady Gaga confirmed that she will begin work on her new album ARTPOP along with an upcoming documentary
Lady Gaga will soon be working on her new album ARTPOP along with an upcoming documentary that will be shot by fashion photographer Terry Richardson.
According to Lady Gaga, the new documentary will chronicle the making of ARTPOP and capture the whirlwind events of her daily life. “Merry Christmas little monsters,” Gaga Tweeted over the holiday. “Terry Richardson is making a #LadyGagaMOVIE documenting my life, the creation of ARTPOP + you!”
Although Lady Gaga hasn’t revealed a specific release date for either project, ARTPOP will be her third studio album and is tentatively slated for 2013.
In 2008, Lady Gaga burst on to the music scene with The Fame before releasing the extended EP The Fame Monster in 2009 and the full-length Born This Way in 2011.
The “Born This Way” single topped the charts in nearly twenty countries and sold over one million copies worldwide to become the fastest selling song in iTunes history. To date Lady Gaga has three number one singles and eight other top ten singles.
Over the Christmas holiday, Gaga gave fans more insight into her life and what to expect on the new album. “Thank you for being so patient waiting for my new album ARTPOP,” Gaga added on Twitter. “I hope this gets [you] excited for things to come. I love you with all my heart!”
As for her collaboration with Terry Richardson, Lady Gaga also revealed that she’s looking forward to working with one of her idols.
“I love you @Terry_World,” Gaga continued on twitter. “Thank you for believing in me and my fans, I have looked up to you and your work for so long. It’s a dream come true!”
Lady Gaga is currently in the middle of the Born This Way Ball, her third international tour.
