Natalie Portman and Kristen Stewart have been named Hollywood’s most bankable stars by Forbes after the two gave studios the highest average returns.
Academy award winner Natalie Portman topped the Forbes list of Hollywood’s Most Bankable Stars with an estimated $42.70 return on every dollar earned by the studios. According to official numbers, Black Swan was made on an estimated budget of $13 million and brought in $329 million in global box office sales. As Forbes indicates, other films that Portman lifted to were No Strings Attached and Your Highness.
Interestingly, Natalie Portman’s role in Thor wasn’t considered since she was a supporting actress. However, as Forbes revealed, No Strings Attached took in a profitable $150 million at the box office on a budget of $25 million.
Kristen Stewart came in a close second with an average $40.60 return on her films but topped the Forbes list of Highest Earning Actresses after a $34.5 million in salary for roles in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and Snow White and the Huntsman.
“Stewart was able to earn a ton over the last three years,” read the statement at Forbes, “and offer a healthy return thanks to ‘Twilight’, even though she was paid $25 million to star in the last two films, she was clearly worth the money.”
To calculate the most bankable stars in Hollywood, Forbes analyzed salaries and estimated the box office grosses from the last three films over the last three years to establish the studio’s return on investment.
