The new Metallica 3D movie will be called Metallica Through the Never and be released in theaters on August 9, 2013, according to the band after an official statement on Tuesday.
Directed by Nimród Antal (Predators), the upcoming 3D movie was filmed over three nights this past summer in Vancouver at Rogers Arena where former Saturday Night live comedian Jim Breuer introduced the band as a warm-up to the explosive shows.

Marketed and distributed by the newly reshaped Picturehouse, Metallica Through the Never tells the story of a live show gone wrong with actor Dane DeHaan who was recently cast in The Amazing Spider Man 2.
“DeHaan plays a young band crew member who is sent out on an urgent mission while the band is playing a rousing live set in front of a sold-out crowd and unexpectedly finds his world turned completely upside down,” read the official statement from the band.
As for how the guys of Metallica feel about the title and release date for Through the Never, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo have a lot more in store in the coming weeks and months.
