The new extended trailer for Iron Man 3 debuted during Super Bowl XLVII ahead of the official May release of the third Iron Man film.
The Super Bowl trailer for Iron Man 3 began with an elegantly dressed Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) walking toward the camera before offering a correction on what was promised. “That might have been more extensive than extended,” said Downey Jr. as Stark.
Super Bowl fans and Iron Man 3 moviegoers also got an extended look at the new plane rescue sequence in which Iron Man has only minutes to rescue 13 free-falling passengers.
In the new trailer, Jarvis tells Iron Man that he can only carry up to four passengers, which could prove deadly for the other nine. Will Iron Man be able to rescue everyone?
In the previously released trailers for Iron Man 3, fans got their first look at the darker side of Tony Stark’s third turn as Iron Man after epic battle in The Avengers.
With help from USAF Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle), Iron Man will need all the backup he can get when The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) arrives.
Iron Man 3 hits theatres on May 2, 2013.
