Following the cancellation of All My Children, soap star Susan Lucci has focused her anger at ABC Daytime programming head Brian Frons, who Lucci calls out in a newly written epilogue for her book called All My Life: A Memoir.
According to The New York Post, actress Susan Lucci, who plays Erica Kane on All My Children, blasted the decisions of ABC executive Brian Frons, which led to the cancellation of the popular soap opera. In a new epilogue for the paperback edition of All My Life: A Memoir, Susan Lucci wrote, “I think our being in this position is the result of some very bad decisions by you,” referring to Frons who hired a new head writer for All My Children in 2008, which resulted in the soap being moved from Los Angeles to New York and the departure of AMC creator Agnes Nixon.
Despite the great career Susan Lucci enjoyed on All My Children, Lucci still felt let down by the decisions made by the ABC executive. “If Brian Frons could show his bosses that he could save the network 40 percent … he could keep his job even if the rest of us lost ours. I watched Brian Frons’ decisions destroy the production of our show and the lives of people on both sides of the country.”
