The funeral service for rapper/actor Heavy D will take place next week at the Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, New York.
According to New York Daily News, friends and family of Dwight Arrington Myers, aka Heavy D to fans, will hold a public viewing and wake on November 17 at the Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, New York. The public viewing will take place at 7PM followed by a wake at 8PM, according to a church official. As reported, Heavy D will be laid to rest at an invitation only service with friends and family in attendance at the church.
Heavy D collapsed at his Beverly Hills home last week and was pronounced dead at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles 90 minutes later. Friends of Heavy D scheduled to attend the funeral include Diddy, Mary J. Blige, the Wayans brothers, and more.
Heavy D was best known for his rap song “Now That We Found Love” and his role in the TV series Boston Public. Heavy D most recently appeared in the film Tower Heist. Heavy D was 44 years-old at the time of his death.
