New Year’s Eve took the top spot at the box office on Friday after the star studded romantic comedy earned $5.1 million.
According to Entertainment Weekly, New Year’s Eve, the new romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher, Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Sarah Jessica Parker, took the number one spot at the box office on Friday with $5.1 million in ticket sales.
The low take for New Year’s Eve was an indication that the Gary Marshall directed movie will earn in the neighborhood of $14 to 15 million over the weekend.
In second place at the box office on Friday was the Jonah Hill comedy The Sitter at $3.7 million and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 at $2.5 million.
