Jennifer Love Hewitt makes her Lifetime series debut in The Client List on Sunday as a single mother who leads a double life in the high priced massage world.
In The Client List, Jennifer Love Hewitt plays Riley Parks, a single mother who takes a job in a massage parlor to make ends meet after being abandoned by her husband. At first, Riley’s new job looks to be a traditional gig at a day spa, but she soon realizes that the spa offers a little more than just massage therapy. The Client List follows Jennifer Love Hewitt in the role of Riley as she tries to balance two worlds – one that revolves around her kids and family – and the other that revolves around the spa and it’s special clientele.
So, how does Jennifer Love Hewitt feel about women who may be in the same situation in real life?
“There really are economically [depleted] families that are put in these positions,” Love Hewitt told The Deadbolt earlier this week. “There are women out there who are in sex worker positions that you would run into at the grocery store with their hair piled on top of their head and you have no idea. But it’s a reality.”
Also starring Cybill Shepherd, Loretta Devine, Colin Egglesfield, and Rebecca Field, The Client List shows how Riley’s two worlds couldn’t be farther apart, yet she’s totally comfortable in both. However, Riley soon discovers that she’s not the only one with secrets.
Although Jennifer Love Hewitt plays a lead character that’s forced to make a tough decision by compromising her morals to get ahead, the actress has a grounded perspective on why people do what they need to in life.
“I feel like as women and men,” added Love Hewitt, “and people on the planet, you just have to do the best with what life gives you. Hopefully on our show people will have a lot of fun watching Riley do the best with what life has offered her. It’ll be an interesting series.”
The Client List premieres Sunday, April 8 at 10/9c on Lifetime.
