Les Miserables Trailer Debuts with Anne Hathaway Singing

6 years ago by Reg Seeton

Universal Pictures debuted the first trailer for Les Miserables that features Anne Hathaway’s version of the stage song, “I Dreamed a Dream.”

In the trailer for Les Miserables, starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway, fans not only get to see Hathaway in the role of Fantine but also hear the actress sing the classic stage song, “I Dreamed a Dream.” Although the song was leaked online several weeks ago and sparked a flurry of negativity, the trailer for Les Miserables showcases a polished version of Hathaway’s voice for the film.

Les Miserables tells the tales of Frenchman Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) who is imprisoned for stealing bread and doggedly pursued by police Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe). After two decades on the run, Valjean finds himself in the midst of the 1832 June Rebellion in Paris.

Directed by The King’s Speech helmer, Tom Hooper, Les Miserables hits theaters on December 14 and also stars Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Helena Bonham Carter.
