Ahead of the October 19 release of Paranormal Activity 4, Paramount released a new trailer for the latest sequel in the Paranormal Activity franchise.
Directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, written by Zack Estrin, Paranormal Activity 4 takes place five years after Paranormal Activity 2, which ended with the kidnapping of Hunter Rey by lead character Katie (Katie Featherston) after she was possessed.
In Paranormal Activity 4, Katie returns with Hunter, now renamed Robbie, and the two move into a new house. Soon afterward, their neighbors experience strange paranormal events in the home. Cameras have been set up in the two homes, but it’s a laptop webcam that takes the horror in Paranormal Activity 4 to a new level.
In an interview with MTV, director Henry Joost explained the new tactic, “When you’re video chatting with someone, you can’t see behind you, but the audience watching this can.”
