Justin Bieber’s Laptop Confirmed Stolen Amid Hoax Rumors

Hoax allegations surrounding Justin Bieber and his stolen laptop have been denied by the singer’s publicist after Bieber tweeted the news to his followers on Twitter.

Earlier this week, the Twitter handle @gexwy was behind the alleged release of Bieber’s stolen laptop information, which included a supposed racy video. However, when the video was posted, it linked to Bieber’s newest single with Nicki Minaj called “Beauty and the Beat”.

Critics cried foul, claiming it was all just an elaborate hoax to drum up publicity for Bieber’s new single.

Ahead of the video release, Bieber himself responded directly to @gexwy. “No matter what you have and what you post tomorrow,” said Justin. “I know my fans won’t leave me. Screw it. #toostrong.”

Amid the many hoax rumors, however, Justin Bieber’s publicist, Melissa Victor, sent an e-mail to The Associated Press. “Be very clear,” said Victor, “the laptop was indeed stolen in Tacoma. That was NOT a hoax.”

As reported by the AP, Tacoma police won’t spend too much time investigating the alleged theft despite the fact that a theft report was filed on Wednesday before Bieber’s concert in Vancouver.

So, if it wasn’t a hoax, why did the alleged racy video link to “Beauty and the Beat”?

A disclaimer for the video reads:

“In October of 2012, three hours of personal footage was stolen from musician Justin Bieber. The following footage was illegally uploaded by an anonymous blogger.”

Do you think it was a publicity stunt?

What do you think?

If it was a publicity stunt, it’s pretty good one!!!

The way I read the timeline of events, the laptop was stolen, Bieber tweeted about it and the press immediately speculated that a sex tape leak, nude pix leak, was certain to be next. Then someone posted a nude pic claiming it was JB on twitter. It wasn’t, but the pic made headlines “NUDE JB PHOTO LEAKED!!” It seems that at that point, if this is what the gossip press wanted to focus on, then Bieber was going to play their game,. This is when @gexwy (which was Justin) started to post ‘leaked ‘ videos claiming to be from the stolen laptop. He kept the taunting going “I’m going to post one, what will your fans think of you after they see this??” Friday, at noon. The press bought it, some sites said “Bieber sex tape to be leaked at noon on @gexwy”. At noon on Friday a video was posted that started with ” this was stolen” probaby to get the crowd that did want a sex tape primed for it. But surprise!! music video instead. Well done, Justin!!

of course it was a stunt. first….whose computer doesn’t have a password lock? especially a celeb. second….the only thing leaked was his new music video. how convenient. nice job thief, you really showed him …by giving him even more attention? third, it’s all crappy music anyway. if you’re not a twelve year old girl who cares? i’m just upset that i’ve seen this reported as “news” on more than one occasion. i’m a grown man. i shouldn’t have to see this on a news and information outlet. this is not news. it’s b.s. and i couldn’t care less about teeny bop gossip.
