The X Factor returned for a special episode on Tuesday night as the final acts were revealed that would move into the top 16 for The X Factor live shows.

This week’s X Factor picked up where last Wednesday’s confusing, half episode left off for a mix of replayed footage from the judges’ houses as 12 of the final 16 contestants were chosen and the remaining spots were filled.

Judges Britney Spears, L.A. Reid, and Demi Lovato had already picked their final four last week before the sudden interruption due to Major League Baseball. Shortly after The X Factor was cut off, Simon Cowell and several contestants hit Twitter to express their frustration.

“Have no idea what is happening to the schedule tonight,” Simon tweeted last week. “Have heard the whole episode will be shown next Tuesday. Sorry.” The X Factor judge didn’t stop there. “It what’s known as a total f up,” added Cowell.

In the teens category, Britney picked Diamond White, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Beatrice Miller, and Arin Ray while Reed Deming and James Tanner were sent home.

Back at L.A. Reid’s house for the over-25s, David Correy, Jason Brock, Tate Stevens, and Vino Alan were in while Daryl Black and Tara Simon found themselves on the outside.

Young adult

At Demi Lovato’s loft in Los Angeles, young adults Jennel Garcia, Willie Jones, and Paige Thomas made it into the final 16. As for Nick Youngerman, he was the first contestant cut before Demi had to make a decision between Jillian Jensen and Cece “face paint” Frey. In the end, CeCe made it to the final 16 for the young adult crowd while Jillian was forced to say goobye to The X Factor.

So, who took the final spots in the top 16?

At Simon Cowell’s home in Miami, the group category came down to Dope Crisis, Lylas, Sister C, and Playback since Simon already put through Lyric 145 and Emblem3. Dope Crisis and Playback were the groups eliminated before Sister C and Lylas rounded out the last two spots.
