No Doubt took their latest single “Looking Hot” to The X Factor UK only a day after pulling the video and issuing a public apology to Native Americans.
Singer Gwen Stefani and No Doubt will appear on The X Factor UK on Sunday during the live results to sing “Looking Hot,” the latest single from the band’s new album Push and Shove. On the official No Doubt website, the band revealed that they “will perform ‘Looking Hot’ live during tonight’s results show on The X Factor UK.”
The X Factor appearance comes only hours after No Doubt pulled the video for “Looking Hot” from the internet amid controversy that it offended Native American people in the United States given the sensitive cultural subject matter.
In the video, Gwen Stefani can be seen in stereotypical Indian wardrobe while she dances around teepees and fights cowboys in the Wild West.
Immediately following the release of the video late this week during the start of Native American Heritage Month, No Doubt quickly pulled the video and issued an apology to Native American people and those offended by the “Looking Hot” video.
“We sincerely apologize to the Native American community,” said the band through a statement on their website, “and anyone else offended by this video. Being hurtful to anyone is simply not who we are.”
Singer Gwen and bassist Tony Kanal stopped by The X Factor UK this past Thursday to give the remaining contestants a master class before the show.
Following the controversy in the U.S., No Doubt has since moved on to sing “Looking Hot” live on The X Factor UK.
