Britney Spears may soon add author to her credentials since she’s allegedly in talks to write her own novel with the Harper Collins off-shoot, It Books.
Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed on Monday that Britney Spears is allegedly close to signing a new book deal, according to an anonymous source, and is currently in talks with Harper Collins despite no offical comment from the publisher.
Unlike the stereotypical autobiography, Spears is apparently interested in writing fictionalized versions of her life experiences. Spears would incorporate her own experiences in the entertainment industry into novel in similar fashion as Lauren Conrad of The Hills did with her 2009 book L.A. Candy.
It Books, an off-shoot of Harper Collins, has published autobiographical books for such musicians as Sammy Hagar and Slash.
Spears is currently a judge on The X Factor USA and is the mentor of the Teens category, which features Carly Rose Sonenclar, Beatrice Miller, and Arin Ray. The three teens survived the final round of cuts last week on The X Factor and now head into the Top 12.
Last week, Spears won her defamation case in court against former manager Sam Lufti who filed suit against Britney and her parents. The case was tossed out of court due to insufficient evidence.
