The upcoming Justice League movie may have found its big screen villain in Darkseid, one of the most poweful antagonists in the DC Comics universe.
Although production on the upcoming Justice League movie is barely up and running, it appears Darkseid has been added as a big screen JL villain.
According to Latino Review, Darkseid, one of the premiere villains in DC Comics, will be the main archenemy in the Justice League film. Since his introduction in 1970, Darkseid has since become one of the most powerful DC villains. Although Darkseid is largely recognized as a nemesis of Superman, he’s had numerous evil encounters with the Justice League as well.
Before fans get into a tizzy, the Latino Review didn’t mention how they got the information about Darkseid, so it’s only a rumor for now. Still, it’s doubtful they’d run such a story on idle speculation.
Although no characters have been officially confirmed at this point, Justice League staples Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and The Flash are expected to headline the film.
After the new Justice League was given the go ahead this past year, Warner Bros. confirmed that screenwriter Will Beall was hired to write a new script. Last month, Warner Bros. won the rights to Superman, which allowed the studio to move forward on the Justice League film.
The upcoming Justice League film is expected to hit theatres in 2015.
