Actor Dane DeHaan has landed the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the sequel to last year’s superhero reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man.
After rumors that the production of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 had narrowed down three actors for Harry Osborn, Chronicle actor Dane DeHaan finally landed the role this week over Alden Ehrenreich (Tetro) and Brady Corbert (Melancholia).
Although the Harry Osborn role originally called for a physically larger actor, the role was reworked to give DeHaan a legitimate shot at being cast.
At the moment, Dane DeHaan and Andrew Garfield are the only two confirmed names for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Emma Stone has yet to officially sign on to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy while Shailene Woodley is still in talks to be the new Mary Jane Watson.
Actor Jamie Foxx was reportedly offered the villain role of Electro but no official word has been issued on the status of the new Spidey villain.
Dane DeHaan takes over the role from James Franco who played Harry Osborn in the Tobey Maguire toplined Spider-Man films.
Filming on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is expected to begin early 2013.
What do you guys think? Good choice or bad for Harry Osborn?
