A new 2-minute trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness was released on Monday that showcases new Stark Trek cast member Benedict Cumberbatch.
The new trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness gives fans ominous voice-over and a good look at new cast member Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of John Harrison who has been placed in a holding cell by Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Pinto).
Although Cumberbatch has recently stated that he’s not the famous Star Trek character, Khan, many fans have suggested otherwise
The footage moves through the halls of the Starship Enterprise and an empty bridge and Captain’s chair before we hear the words, “There’s greatness in you but not an ounce of humility.” A chase ensues as Captain Kirk jumps from a cliff and Starfleet characters react to an impending danger to the voice-over, “You think you’re safe, but you’re not!”
The upcoming Star Trek sequel begins with the crew of the Enterprise called back home where they encounter an unstoppable force from within their own organization that has destroyed the fleet and left the world in a state of crisis. Despite his personal vendetta, Captain Kirk ( Pine) and the rest of the Enterprise crew face insurmountable odds as they attempt to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction in a war-zone world.
Star Trek Into Darkness also stars John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, and Anton Yelchin and hits theatres in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D on May 17, 2013.
