Cassadee Pope was named the Season 3 winner of The Voice on Tuesday night in a star-studded finale that included performances by Rihanna, The Killers, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne and Smokey Robinson.

When The Voice returned on Tuesday night for the Season 3 finale, former Hey Monday front-girl and Team Blake singer Cassadee Pope beat fellow competitors Terry McDermott and Nicholas David to win the top prize of a Universal recording contract.

In the final moments of The Voice on Tuesday night, host Carson Daly announced that Nicholas David of Team Cee Lo was the third place finalist before naming Pope the winner, leaving Team Blake Scottish rocker Terry McDermott as the second place runner-up.

Prior to winning The Voice, Cassadee took the stage with The Killers for the band’s single “Here with Me” before performing with Terry and Kelly Clarkson on “Catch My Breath” and later a duet with Avril Lavigne on “I’m with You.”

It was a jam packed night of performances on The Voice in Los Angeles where Rihanna opened the show with her new hit “Diamonds.” Also performing was the legendary Smokey Robinson with Nicholas David on the R&B hit “Cruisin'” along with classic rocker Peter Frampton who hit the stage with Terry McDermott for a duet on the huge ’70s hit “Baby I Love You Way.”

Closing out the star-studded cavalcade of musical heavyweights on The Voice, Bruno Mars stepped to the mic for an amazing rendition of his new single “When I Was Your Man” before coaches Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine performed the Green Day chart topper “”Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).”

The Voice win by Cassadee Pope follows first season winner Javier Colon and second season victor Jermaine Paul.
