Kristen Stewart confirmed that she will star in Snow White and the Huntsman 2 after weeks of speculation about Stewart’s involvement in the sequel.
In an interview with IndieWire, Kristen Stewart revealed that she’s eager to return to Snow White and the Huntsman for a second movie. “I’m so excited about it, it’s crazy,” Stewart stated.
When prompted for more details about Snow White and the Huntsman 2, Stewart stopped short about the plot or her involvement. “The other day I said that there was a strong possibility that we’re going to make a sequel, and that’s very true,” Stewart added. “But everyone was like, ‘Whoa, stop talking about it.’ So no, I’m totally not allowed to talk about it.”
It appears that director Rupert Sanders, who helmed the first film, will not return for the sequel. As fans know, news broke after the first Snow White film that indicated he and Stewart were romantically involved.
According to a source at RadarOnline, executives allegedly had to make a choice between Stewart or Sanders for the sequel. “Rupert Sanders definitely won’t be a part of the project,” said the source. “Rupert didn’t want to be a part of it to begin with because he is desperately still trying to save his marriage. The search is still on for a new director.”
Details on the film’s plot have not been released but the Radar source did say that a “script has already been written and production will begin late next year.”
Snow White and the Huntsman earned nearly $400 million at the box office, so expectations will be high for the success of the sequel.
