Director Frank Capra’s It’s A Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed

New never-before-seen set photos from It’s A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart were released online this week in time for Christmas and the holiday season.

Although millions of people continue to celebrate Christmas with director Frank Capra’s 1946 film, It’s A Wonderful Life, they’ve never seen the series of newly released set photos from the Capra classic at Life.com.

In the new images, legendary star Jimmy Stewart can be seen in several candid shots in and around Bedford Falls.

Interestingly, the set photos also reveal the giant, groundbreaking snow machines that Capra used to blanket Bedford Falls and cover Jimmy Stewart’s George Bailey as he ran through town. The photos give fans a look at the snowmaking process, called “snow service,” and how the town of Bedford Falls got a white Christmas for the movie.

Sixty-six years after the film was released, It’s A Wonderful is a holiday tradition for millions of families worldwide.

It’s A Wonderful Life stars Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey, a man who sacrifices his dreams to help others but finds new meaning in life after a guardian angel thwarts his suicide attempt to show how much he’s impacted the lives of others.

Nominated for five Academy Awards, It’s A Wonderful Life was named one of the 100 best American films history by the American Film Institute.
