Fans of The Walking Dead got an extra present over the Christmas holiday when AMC released the latest preview for the Season 3 episode “The Suicide King.”

The Walking Dead will return on February 10 after the shocking death of Rick’s wife, Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies), and the mounting tension between the Governor (David Morrissey) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln).

In the new Season 3 preview, viewers get a sneak peek at the events following the cliffhangers that ended the mid-season finale.

The latter half of The Walking Dead season kicks off with the episode “The Suicide King” in which viewers find out the fate of Merle (Michael Rooker) and Daryl (Norman Reedus ) after they were put into the arena. Michonne (Danai Gurira) returns after killing the Governor’s zombie-turned daughter while Andrea reveals that she needs to see the survivors.

The new preview follows on the December announcement that showrunner Glen Mazzara will part ways with The Walking Dead over creative differences. Last month, Mazzara and AMC released a joint statement that explained the producer’s decision to leave the show. “The two parties have mutually decided to part ways,” read the AMC statement. “Glen guided the series creatively for seasons 2 and 3. AMC is grateful for his hard work. We are both proud of our shared success,” the release read.

This show can’t come back soon enough! Not sure how I feel about Mazzara leaving. It’ll be interesting to see where the show goes without him. Hopefully it’s not for the worse.

I love how Robert Kirkman continues to keep people on the edge of their seats, even for the fans of the comic book series!
